Q: What happens if I go to a DeltaPremier dentist and he/she tells me I need a dental specialist but there isn’t a specialist for my condition in my area? Can I get a referral to a non-network dentist and get the same benefits?
A:
The answer to both questions is no. If your network dentist refers you to a non-network dentist, your claims will be paid according to the non-network schedule and you will be responsible for any balance due over and above the dentist's charges. We encourage you to use dentists in the Delta Dental Premier Network. The choice is yours. You may ask your dentist if he or she is in the DeltaPremier network, check the Delta Dental Premier Network directory on the Provider Networks page of this website or contact the Fund office at 313-964-2400 or 1-800-824- 3158. Referrals are not necessary and benefits are paid according to the participating status of the dentist rendering the service.
